Petite little tea cup…

I know nothing about this pink little tea cup! It stands about two inches high and is about one and a half inches wide (minus the handle) the saucer is in proportion with the tea cup.

045It doesn’t look like it was something that was mass produced because of the delicate hand painted flowers and added painted touches to both the cup and saucer. Of course there are three little feet on the bottom – but this is not to add to my three footed tea cup collection – as I believe this is a different type of teacup all together.

Both the numbers on the bottom of the plate and the bottom of the cup match.

If anyone has any information on this little set – please do share with me.

Hello Tracy,
This is a gorgeous teacup! I looked up
http://www.ehow.co.uk/how_7304532_identify-marks-antique-porcelain.html
to see if I could find anything - this article is very interesting and may give you some direction - there are guides out there if no one else is familiar with this maker's mark.
Thank you for sharing this with A Return to Loveliness - quite Delightsome,
Kathy

That is a darling teacup and saucer. I wish I knew helpful information. My mother used to collect small cups and saucers, of which I now have a few, while adorable all of them look mass produced. Yours is certainly a treasure!

Hi Tracie... your little cup is actually a demitasse cup... by Arnart Imports from Japan... they used that specific mark from 1957 through 2001... what a gorgeous little find you have!... xoxo Julie Marie

It is so lovely. You were lucky to get it.
I wonder if it is a cup especially for hot chocolate.

I would guess that it is a demitasse cup, but I could be wrong. Also, young ladies used to paint china as a hobby, so maybe that explains the hand-painted flowers. It is so cute!!!

Hi Tracie,
What a darling little cup! A lot of work went into the making of it, I would imagine. I can't tell you a thing about it except that it's very cute; very nice to have in your possession. Thanks for sharing its cuteness with us and thanks for joining me for tea today. Have a wonderful week.

Blessings,

Your little cup and saucer are Bohemian glass. I collect it. That's gorgeous. I have a lamp that looks like it is part of that same set. Look it up on ebay. There is quite a bit of this painting on clear glass too.

Blessings,
Shelley
