McCall…

Earlier this week I posted about taking “a hiatus over the past week due to a death in our family. Still cannot talk about it…but will in time!”. I have received some very sweet notes even though you didn’t know what happened or whom I lost – I want you to know I really appreciate it!
Two weeks ago today – our sweet lab, McCall was put to rest.  I had left for “Farm Chicks” before she started to show signs of suffering.  However, my family at home was left to deal with saying Goodbye with out me.  Because I didn’t get to say goodbye to her – I have worked tirelessly on a video to share with my children & all who cared about her.  Although it wasn’t completely unexpected that someday she would leave us (she lived a healthy 13 and a half years – but I honestly didn’t realize how much I’d miss her…until I got home and our daily routine had been turned upside down.
She was truly a puppy from the day we brought her home until the day I left for my weekend in Spokane.   We put her through several obedience classes – yet she wouldn’t sit still.  I was saddened when I was going through all my photo’s I didn’t have more of her with the family.  But the video did turn out great & will be a sweet keepsake for all of us.  Guess it’s my way of saying goodbye…click on McCall’s photo to see the video.

Tracie,

I had a hard time watching the video because it is so difficult to lose a pet. Then I saw my little dog playing with McCall, I've had three Westies. We have Reggie now and got him several months before Duffy passed.

Take care, it will get better, but you will never forget him and all the joy he brought to your family.

I am so, so sorry. I have been there way to many times. But a psychic told me that all my animals are with me and without pain. So just be aware of your surroundings, because he will be there right beside you.
Hi Tracie
A big hug for you at this time of mourning for McCall. I watched some of the video and your dog was certainly a loved member of the family.

Oh, Tracie....I am so sorry. I know you are so broken-hearted right now. I think it is amazing that you put together a video. Dogs are such special members of our families, and it breaks my heart knowing how hurt you must be.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Our chocolate lab just turned 11 and has definitely slowed a lot, which is so sad. I do completely agree about them being puppies forever. :)

I'm thinking of you.

Take care,

I didn't read about the death in your family or I would have written sooner... Michelle of Emerald Cove recently lost her dog too. Words aren't that helpful but please know that I know how you're feeling (we lost our parrot and I still miss him) and that your fond happy memories will one day outweigh the sorrow. Thanking of you!!

Well I for one know exactly how you feel, my best friend and companion Harry labrador passed away May 31st this year aged just 11 & 3/4's. Devastated and feeling lost pretty much sums up how I feel. He really was top draw. I too have the videos and it feels good to see him on those, a lasting memory. Unfortunately no puppy photos. We did take some but they are seemingly lost as I gave the film back to my parents as they had some of their own photo's on the film. Live in hope the film turns up one day. Anyway enough of me, Mc call was your special buddy, one of the family always. Hurray for such gentle intelligent creatures to have come our way

aww he's so beautiful. So sorry. Hope you and your family are ok.
Hi Tracie,
Oh I am so sorry! I lost two last year, and I know it just breaks your heart!!
Your video was a beautiful tribute, what a great collection to see him grow along with the kids:-))
I enjoyed all the "naughty" things in the end, all the things that are hard in the moment are the things that you look back on and smile, remembering the true spirit:-) Like the tolite paper rolls... so frustrating when it happens and they always do this, but later so so endearing:-))
Sending you a big hug:-)

I am so sorry to hear of your loss...we too lost our sweet Aussie Abbie two months ago, unexpectedly and she is missed more than ever. She was only 7 but the time we had was so special. She was my shadow and it is hard to move on without them but we do. Our pets are a very important part of our lives and I hope your memories will last a lifetime. Blessings to you and you family.
Oh Tracie, I'm so sorry to hear this. She was a beautiful girl. The video was such a good idea to do for your kids. How hard it must have been to put together. It had me choked up. She reminds me of my lab Maggie. I had to put her to sleep during our move to GA and my husband was out of town. The hardest thing ever to do. So I know the pain. Hugs to you my friend.
