More Roses at Fishtail Cottage…

Last month I shared with you the roses that were blooming here at Fishtail Cottage. I mentioned I still had more roses that hadn’t begin to bloom, but promised to share with you when they woke up.  The garden is beyond beautiful right now!  I love walking through or just sitting on the patio to smell the sweet fragrances of all the roses in bloom.  The roses below are classified as bourbon’s, tea, gallica, noisette, english or climber. Please do click on the photo’s to see a larger photo. I can also get you the name of the rose if you are interested……

Wow, your roses are just gorgeous! Did you plant them all yourself? I wish I knew how to grow them. I especially love the old fashioned varieties that have lots of fragrance. Great photos, too, by the way:)
Your roses are just gorgeous. I envy you in that beautiful garden with all those scents floating around!!

I just planted a climber. I have been getting all sorts of advice but what I am really concerned with is pruning. I was just told that after a bloom, you prune down the stem to the cluster of 5 leaves and snip it right above. Is that how you do it?? Any other good advice?

XO,
Jane
Your roses are absolutely beautiful! I can imagine their gorgeous scent while you sit out and admire them.
Thank you so much for your sweet comments on my blog!

Tracie,

The roses are beautiful. What would a garden be without roses? So many gardeners are leary about the care they take but it not much different than careing for perennials, food, water, deadheading!

Eileen
Is there any other flower that can match the rose? I love them all especially the old fashioned ones.
Scrolling through your photo's I could smell them I sware. x

My roses are all opening up now as well, anytime I walk around my porch I can smell them. I especially enjoy them first thing in the morning with my coffee, always something new to see in the garden this time of year.

You have the most amazing rose bushes...and gardens-they are ALL gorgeous! Whatever happened to that area where the neighbors cut down those big trees? Did anything get replanted? xo Diana
