Lovely find…

I found this sweet little embellished pitcher on craigslist a couple weeks ago.

Traditionally, I have only added plain white pitchers for my collection for the kitchen hutch, but this one called out to me! I am just sure I will find the perfect place in the house for it.  It is very petite and delicate, measuring five and a half inches tall and five inches in diameter (at it’s widest point).    The owner listing lived quite a distance from me and agreed to ship it to me at a very reasonable price.  When it arrived in the mail ~ I was so pleased with all of the ornate details and charming character that this piece holds.

No chips, no scratches, just a perfect and sweet little pitcher.  I plan to keep it in the guest suite!  If anyone out there knows anything about this marking ~ please do share.  I tried looking it up on the internet and can’t find anything about it.

Oh what a pretty little pitcher. It is so delicate with the little blue floral pattern and its fancy handle and top edge. I wonder if there may be other matching pieces somewhere.

Love it, Tracie. I collect pitchers of all sorts and some of my favorites have a floral embelishment. I'm sure it will look great in the guest room filled with casual flowers.

Hi again, and thanks for the email sweetie... can you email me again and tell me what it says in the center of the marking on the back of your pitcher, I can't read that part... I have collected for sooo many years, and I can tell you that because of the "underglaze duquesne" marking it was made sometime between 1903~1945... the underglaze simply means the design was applied under the glaze... xoxo Julie Marie PS Your blog is simply STUNNING! love your new profile pic!
