Petite Little Tea Cup…

The only markings on the bottom of this sweet tea cup is “MADE IN JAPAN”…but this sentimental gift says, “SOMEONE THOUGHT OF ME”!!!  My son’s girlfriend picked this Petite Little Tea Cup up from an antique store with me in mind.  She knows (and has seen first hand) that I get so excited when I am able to find one to add to my Three Footed Tea Cup Collection.  This one is very different than the ones I currently own…(between you and me, I don’t think it would be considered a three footed tea cup by most) ~ in my heart, IT IS because of the thoughtful gesture…

The set itself is all white, with the gold trim along the edges of both the cup and the saucer. Along the edge of the saucer, tear drop shaped cut outs line the gold edging.   If you click to enlarge these photo’s (below) you will see the cup is hand painted…I can even feel the paint when I rub my fingers along the dainty flowers…

Above you can see the embellished rose and foliage painted on the one side and below is a photo of what is on the other side…I love the simplicity of this rose bud.

Here it is again, in full view!

Lovely gift with a kind thought! This cup is three footed, just modest feet : ) Is it demitasse size? It may be a footed demitasse.
What a beautiful way to say "I was thinking of you"!
Hugs,
Terri
