Garden House…in 2014!

For Christmas my husband gave me the go ahead to have a garden house/greenhouse/sanctuary – or whatever we gardeners want to call it built in the back yard… since that gift was given, I’ve been spending a lot of time on Pinterest looking for ideas ~ I’ve been very inspired by a lot of ideas, but when I began asking around at pricing of these beautiful outbuildings, I am not so sure that this idea will truly happen anytime soon. Either my dreams are too big or I need to find another way of creating one.
Originally ~ I thought I’d put it down in the grass area of our garden…

But now I am toying with the idea of putting the garden house where our coop is…am I crazy for thinking that?  I thought about moving the coop somewhere else in the garden, but maybe this section could coexist with both the chicken coop and a garden house?

My mind is a bit scattered from all these ideas in my head, but it hasn’t stopped me from coming across some great items that will be perfect for the someday garden house?
I found these yesterday at TJ Maxx and thought they would be perfect for seed packets.

Won’t these crates be a useful out in a garden house?

& this olive basket?

and a couple of these seltzer bottles?

I picked up two of these swivel chairs at TJ Maxx ~ these will be perfect for using out there…someday!!!

I would love to have a garden house, but since I know that it will never happen (no space) then I will have to live vicariously through yours.

I can't wait to see what you do. And, I am headed over to TJ Maxx today after seeing your great finds.
I dream of a garden house someday, too. I also wouldn't know where to put it. I am sure yours will be dreamy where ever you put it and I can't wait to see how it turns out.

I would love to have a little garden house. My husband built the sweetest little house but we made it into a nursery coop.
If I had my very own garden house I'd have a lovely, comfy old wicker chair, a table with a drawer, a good light, a shelf for garden books and bit of a bay window or garden window for small tender plants......and I'd have a stone doorstep and path!
I'm confident that you'll come up with something perfect for your needs and vision Traci.
My outdoor tea house is pretty basic, but it's mine, it's shaded and is beside our pond. I'd love something more glamorous but there was a budget when hubby built it for me.
Dream on with yours...
Happy Valentine's Day.

I can't imagine why it would be a problem to combine it with the same area as the coop. We have a 12 x 16 barn that we bought as kit and had it built on a concrete slab. I'd like to take it over as my garden shed/sanctuary! I guess the important thing is to figure out if a permanent building will look good any place else.
Oh you are just having too much fun with your imagination of a beautiful garden house and the cool purchases from TJ Max. Your buys are real treasures and I can't wait to see the garden house. My yard is the size of a postage stamp you lucky girl!!!

That is a royal gift! I am so happy for you! We don't have any free space in our garden, so I have just a potting bench (but a pretty one!)
It'll be fun to see your little garden house! Congratulations!!!
All you need is the house for all the goodies you have found! You have a great eye and I am sure the garden house will add to the already beautiful gardens you have.
Oh Tracie, you are a girl after my own heart! I too have picked up things for a future garden house. I have the perfect spot up on the hill behind my pondless waterfall. I thought we would do it this year, but after finishing our basement I think it might be next year. You found some great things! I got an olive bucket and seltzer bottle too. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
hugs.,

I can just imagine how hard it is to plan for a perfect garden! However, we are lucky that Pinterest offers a variety of great inspiration for our gardening plans. Anyway, have you started on your garden already? I’ll be looking forward to seeing your garden once it’s already done. :)
