Tracie...are you or your husband a master gardener? How did you ever come up with the ideas that you have because your garden is just as nice as the best botanical gardens I've seen. Seriously. Your front entry is gorgeous..are those Tree Roses? One of the things I miss about living in the Pacific North West is how well gardens grow. Powdery mildew was a problem for my roses up there in the summer. Here in Kansas we don't get much rain at all and we have VERY hot temperatures and of course wind to deal with. I wish you lived closer because I would love to have you help me do my garden! I love English gardens and even though I know it's not a good idea here...I still want to have a small one. If it doesn't work then at least I can say I tried here on the farm. I had one in the city or at least started one before we sold the house and I loved it. Anyway...your home inside and out and gardens are absolutely gorgeous. Thank you so much for sharing your pictures with us! Maura :)
Maura ~ yes those are called polor joy tree roses (hardy to zone 4)they are not grafted like most tree roses, they are own root roses. they have only been here two years & i cringe everytime we have snow or a little freeze. Powdery mildew is a problem here too, but i just cut it off when i see & make sure the leaves have room to breath. What zone are you in Kansas? i have lots of ideas & happy to share. xoxo
Your garden is amazing. I think you should show the evolution all on one post. It really has been transformed. I get so impatient and want that lushness all at once but it really does take time.

Wow! you have such a gorgeous garden with beautiful blooms! can I come for a visit? I'm staying in a high rise apartment, with flowers/plant grown in pots along the corridor , so these wonderful garden really blow my mind away.

Oh my what a garden! The variety of plantings and the landscape designing is just wonderful!! I am so not a landscape designer but would so love for my gardens to look like they were designed by one!
