Silver Décor…

I love searching for Silver pieces to add to Fishtail Cottage!  Recently I have found a love for these darling little pedestal silver bowls.  The décor on them is so ornate!  I’ve filled them up with shelled nuts, candies, and even a candle recently.

I have only come across three so far in my search that I have loved enough to purchase – I didn’t even realize I was starting a new collection of something.  These little bowls have secretly called my name when I’ve come across them.  They are just too pretty for words!  Such detail they have and each one is so unique!
This one was my first to purchase.  Wasn’t sure what it would be used for – I just really liked the details on it.

This was the second bowl of my finds to add to my collection. I took it into Haley’s Cottage in Kirkland and had it filled with a Rendezvous Scented Candle – love the scent of this candle so much – I haven’t even needed to burn it yet!

It’s somewhat difficult to see, but there are two little rings that hang from each side…
I worried a little when I had it filled with the candle because I didn’t want to ruin such a beautiful and unique bowl – since the candles are “soy” it will easily come out when I am done burning!

And the final detailed silver bowl I have to share with you is this cute little floral one.

078Look how pretty the little petals are and how many flowers are shown on this beauty!

If anyone knows what these little vintage dishes were originally used for, I would love to hear from you!

Your bowls are absolutely stunning. I havent sen any as ornate as these ones. Amazing how a collection can just 'sneak' up on you - I know the feeling rather too well.

Your little bowls are adorable. I love the one with all the flowers on it! Too, too cute! I thin it's neat you can take containers and have them filled with scented wax. I don't think we have anything like that around here!!!

I think it's neat when you start collecting something you never intended to collect. The collection found you!
Pretty and sparkly...how can you go wrong...I love the one with the candle in it...I adore the little rings on the sides.

Blessings Kelsie
Beautiful, beautiful! I love old silver and you have found some stunning pieces. You just don't see silver pieces with that much detail very often. You have started an incredible collection, enjoy.

Hi Tracie... your pieces are just beautiful!... My mama always called them "compotes" and served everything from nuts, to bon bons and bridge mix to strawberries, etc in them... I have several myself, and I usually put nuts and candies in them... yours are especially pretty!... xoxo Julie Marie
Beautiful pieces of silver. I have had similar ones and I used them for candies and nuts. The detail on all of yours is incredible. The ones I had were very plain. You have started a lovely collection. Good luck in your quest for more!!! ~~Sherry~~

Tracie, the details on these little pieces are exquisite. Great finds. They remind me of a small tray my sister gave to me this past January for my birthday. It is edged with the most details flowers much like the one in your last photo. Thanks for sharing. ~ Sarah

There is something kind of regal about your detailed silver bowls...they could do so many things...pretty guest soaps, nuts, potpourri, button collections...that is what I think of anyway.

Gosh Tracie..these are gorgeous! This is so strange that you should have just started a collection. The same thing happened to me this week, though I haven't posted on it yet. I happened across the 'pottery club' at my son's college doing a sale. Oh my goodness! I spent a bit more than I should and bought so many sweet cups and mugs and a pitcher..all misshapen and creative! So I suppose I have a new collection too. I'd love to see where you plan to put these beautiful things.

Hey! Love these bowls and they definitely are great accessories - the candle turned out wonderful - what a great idea! I imagine that little bowl fairly glowing with the candle's flame!

Your bowls are unique. I inherited a couple in all the silver I received but they're rather plain.
I like to keep one in the bathroom filled with various things.

Lovely collection, Tracie! The candle would look beautiful in it!

Hello fellow Washington neighbor!
Pretty bowls and nice finds. I know I have loved finding pretty silver and silverplated pieces lately too. I buy some to sell, have a mall space in Marysville at Sasafrass & Company. But some I find are just to pretty to sell and I have to keep!! Gee I hate it when that happens, lol.
Happy collecting,
Linda
These ARE gorgeous, I have a couple, but I don't know what they were used for either! Thanks so much for linking up with VIF!
hugs,
Debra
What a pretty collection you have of these silver pieces.

Danielle
The detail on these pieces is just amazing. I think the candle is a great idea. Love them all!
Tracie, these are amazing pieces of repoussé. Did you check for makers marks on the bottom? You could possibly have some pieces that are of value.

Thanks for linking to the party. I hope to see you each week.

Blessings,
