Second Saturdayz!

Today I went to Second Saturdayz – with nothing in mind that I needed or that I was looking for!  Silly me to think I’d just browse! I was hopeful that I may find the perfect repurposed way to hold my necklaces, but other than that – I needed nothing!  So once in line – I spotted a gorgeous buffet table that I of course have no need or place in the house for…but it was so beautiful!  I tried to ignore it, really I tried!  But, I ended up bringing it home after nobody else “had to” have it!  Still am not sure where exactly it will go – but it WILL find a home!  It is missing a couple of the hardware pieces – but I am hopeful that I can find some out there somewhere!  One of the drawers is lined inside with green velvet. It is just gorgeous!

Also “found” was a fabulous white chippy ladder….I’ve been looking for one for quite sometime thinking it might be the perfect item for Fishtail Cottage…but again, no idea where it will go!

Okay so, to stay focused with finding something to hang my necklaces on my mind – I continued keep an eye out for that perfect treasure. Not to mention it was my (hopeful) mission for the morning right?  I immediately found, and purchased) a fantastic silver pedestal dish that I thought would be so pretty with the necklaces dangling off from the center! Seemed like just the right height & width for the space I have allowed on my closet shelf!

But as I walked through the market, I also found this sweet jewelry box…The bottom says Montgomery Ward. It too is missing the top drawer hardware that I hope to find & replace as well. It is perfectly distressed and thought it would be great if I could store my necklaces inside this sweet box on my shelf closet.  I loved everything about it & brought it home!  Although – it isn’t the right size, it too will find a home here!

Look how sweet the inside details of this box are…so you can see why I had to give it a “try”!

And I of course couldn’t miss out on picking up the latest version of The Jeanne’d Arc Living Magazine.  I can’t wait to peek through it!  Everything is always just so lovely!

Great buys Tracie! I have to restrain myself now after years of antique shopping. I am at the point where I should open an ebay account. I love the lines of the buffet so classical.

I love all your finds and I am also looking out for a ladder, not a step ladder type though, to use as something to hang plants on in the garden.

Yummy - isn't it just when you're not looking that you find the most wonderful things? It's so much more fun than looking for something specific and not finding it!
I'm going to follow you - love your style!

I have a similar silver dish... never thought of using it in my bedroom for jewelry... hmmm... I am working on a "redo" in there so maybe I'll now be incorporating some of the silver I've been collecting!

The jewelry chest makes me think of my grandma... she always had the "Monkey Ward" (I don't know where that name came from) catalog and ordered our birthday and christmas gifts from it!

Love the new sideboard/buffet! I know you'll find a fab use for it... I'm determined to make it down for the next Second Saturdayz now that my daughter is back living in Seattle :)

I have the exact same silver dish that my m-in-law gave to me. Never thought about a jewelry holder. What a great idea! Thanks for the suggestion :-).
The buffet is amazing!
Beautiful stuff-thanks for sharing!
Here's the rule around here: If I see something at a flea market, antique store, or thrift shop that I LOVE, I don't leave it behind, whether I have a place for it or not. Soon enough, the perfect spot will come to mind, and you will love it even more ... even if another piece has to leave in the process.

Love your finds!!
