Shelf in the Sitting Room…

I saw this shelf on line at Pottery Barn and immediately fell in love! They show it as a fabulous headboard above a bed in the catalogue – which looks stunning to say the least.  But for me – I needed this shelf for my sitting room.  I am loving what a difference this has made in this small room, it just looks so much more inviting to sit and relax in this overstuffed chair that I’ve had for years!

On the shelf is my engagement photo with my husband surrounded by comments from friends and family that signed the mat on our wedding day!  Also are a few snapshots of some of our favorite moments together in newly painted (but need to be scuffed up) frames!

Also on the shelf are these fantastic champagne colored candle holders that I found at Target!  The color matches my recently found table lamps that I posted about, which brings the two rooms together!

 

Leaning on the candlesticks is a “found” note from my grandfather about his wagon wheel…click to see a larger photo!

 

 

Also displayed is my junk yard finds of vintage alarm clocks – thinking its kind of a cool way to display these mixed in with newer clocks from around my house – showing time is of the essence!

Also, a little collection of those fabulous creations made by Michelle over at Petite Michelle Louise’s Etsy store! I purchased some for gifts, but cant seem to let go of any… they are all just so unique and amazingly special!
