What a day…

The day started out fantastic with the sound of my cell phone alarm at 6:08 am…I know, early right? second saturdayz 001but for good reason! I was meeting my friend Rachel at French Farmhouse 425 and her sweet Grandmother (who by the way doesn’t look like a Grandmother)…at 7:30 to attend 2nd Saturdayz.

There were many fabulous faces that I recognized…Debi with Garden Party, Deb at Ormolulu, Todd with Bountiful Home, Kathy and Kris at Whimsical Whites   and so many more. I’m loving attending 2nd Saturdayz – just too see my friends with like minds! The only thing I brought home was this gorgeous candle holder that I purchased from Linda and Ludmil of Willow Nest all the way from Texas!  There is so much I can do with this fabulous candelabra to decorate for the upcoming holiday season!

My husband isn't fond of burning candles everywhere in the house ~ so I sat this outside for awhile and allowed candles to drip down the sides to give it the much needed “used look”.

and then I set it in its new home in the den.  If you have followed my blog you will remember a chippy white pillar was there before, but that now sits in my master suite.

What do you think?

After I got got the candelabra set in its place at home – I headed to the do a little more shopping and texted my husband the words “thanks for letting me Flea”. I hit a few local thrift stores and found these old hymnals and these candles for a craft I’d like to try for the upcoming holidays.

After a few small purchases I hit the mall to pick up a pair of shoes that I have been eyeing for a while for the upcoming winter months…So cute right?  But as I sat there, trying on shoes and admiring my new shoes I was about to purchase – little did I notice that my brand new iPhone (purchased on 10/14/11), sitting on the chair with me, was being stolen…& of course I didn’t notice that my phone was missing till I’d already purchased the shoes and looked or my phone to let the family know I was on020 my way home!  Panic and anxiety set in……& I spent the next two hours at the mall running from Nordstrom's customer service, mall security, alerting At&t and apple – then calling the local police to report the phone stolen. Apple tried tracking the phone, but it had already been shut off. So I went back to Nordstrom's  and mall security, apple, at&t two to three times to make sure nothing had been turned in.  I am so saddened that people are so desperate to steal t make a quick dollar and not be honest when they find something that is not theirs. Especially – since according to Apple the phone is not useful to them since the phone is locked and the serial number is in the data base as stolen so if they try to take it to a pawn shop or reactivate it through a company – the phone itself will be flagged. Because it is being tracked - If the phone is turned on Apple, At&t, the police department and myself will all be contacted as to the exact location of the phone.  Oh, and did I mention – Nordstrom's has the theft on video?

Well ~ so the end of my day wasn’t as happy as the beginning…I’m still missing my phone and the sweet cover I had especially made with my front gate with blooming roses. Wasn’t it cute?

Hope you all have a better weekend than I did! To see what I am linking to this week – please check my “Cottage Links” label…Hugs…tracie

So sorry some creep stole your phone Tracie!... maybe if Nordstroms caught it on surveillance cameras someone can identify the jerk... I just hate to hear things like that... especially happening to nice people like you... I do love your new boots though sweetie... did you look in the garbage cans at the mall for your phone? Seriously... Jack is a retired police officer and recovered alot of stolen property in trash cans right after a theft... xoxo Julie Marie
LOVE your new boots btw!! ;)

Well I love your whole day except for the stolen phone part. I think part of it is that we just feel so violated when something like this happens. I do love your new boots! xo Diana
So sorry about your phone - hopefully they will get the thief. Love the boots! The candelabra is beautiful, and I love the slipcovers on the chairs.

Oh, I hate to hear that your phone was stolen. It was such a lovely day up to that point. I hope they catch the thief.
I headed down to Seattle on Saturday to spend the day with my daughter. We talked about hitting Second Saturdayz but alas, I didn't' want to get out of bed so early (we live hours north). We did have a great time and hit my favorite stores at U-Village... I missed out on Christmas shopping with her last year so this was special.

I can't believe someone took your phone like that! Unbelievable... I got new boots at Nordstroms too... grey Frye boots, very similar to a pair I had back in high school... oh so long ago ;)

At least the start to your weekend was good. I just don't understand why people do the things they do sometimes. Hopefully you will hear something soon about your phone.

I am so sorry about your phone Tracie!! Don't you just had it when an awesome day gets spoiled like that!! Hoping it is found soon!!
Blessings~
Hi Tracie
Love the red boots and the candelabra looks great where you've put it in your home.
The sad part about losing your phone is that when the person finds they can't use it, they'll probably just ditch it somewhere.
Hope this can somehow have a happy ending.

Great candelabra! I love burning candles - gracious so sorry your phone was stolen! We had guests yesterday and my husband and he were comparing his IPhone to my husband's IPad - trading Apps.
We live in a more selfish, dangerous world - don't like this for my children!
Hope the week goes better,
Kathy

So very disappointed to hear about your phone and all the hassle caused by someone else's rude behavior.
Did you check to see if they made any calls before they shut it off? Could be a clue.

I' so sorry that your phone was stolen! It saddens me to know that people have no qualms about taking things that do not belong to them.

But, love the boots!

Thanks you for sharing your day at Potpourri Friday!
Oh so sorry about your phone!!! My friend just had hers stolen right out of her purse. People have so much nerve these days! You did score some incredible finds though and those boots are super cute. :-) Thanks for linking up to Inspiration Friday this week!
