1930’s Calendars…

My father gave these 1930’s calendars to me a few years ago for Christmas.  It means a lot coming from him that he was willing to part with something like these that he purchased many years ago. I don’t have art work in my home but I have collected a few old prints from Zulu Kenyon and Edwardo Cubane.  Which similarly consist of little vintage girls.  These prints are from  collection called the Bluebird series by Adeleide Hiebel.  I've seen many many prints like these in antique stores, but have been washed out by the sunshine by years of displaying in unprotected glass, cut down to fit the size a frame losing the original edges, or they have been matted (which ruins any vintage print).
What makes these prints extra special is that they are still in tact with the original full 1930’s January – December calendars that are attached by a string tied at the top of each print.  They have been in storage for what looks like years.

I plan to frame these with museum glass for my Guest Suite I am working on and finally will be able to display them in my home!  This is very exciting to be able to display a true vintage treasure instead of hiding it in the dark drawer!

Your calendar prints are adorable. Great idea to frame them instead of keeping them in a drawer.

How nice you found a way to display the prints from the calendar.. I have had one for years, from the year my older brother was born (1939). When He died my mom gave it to me.. sad but it's been sitting in a box. I might just take it out and do something with it..
Very nice idea

You are a lucky lady to inherit those beautiful old prints. Every piece of art work in my home is old...old Victorian rose paintings or old prints and I cherish each one. HWW

Blessings~
The paintings remind me of the drawings in the storybooks my mom read to me as a child. I am glad you will be preserving them and sharing with your guests.
They are so charming and I am sure you will find the perfect place for them in your new Guest suite!

Deb

A wonderful and beautiful PINK post!

HPS, a little late but catching up to visit you. Here's my PINK, hope you'd come and see. Have a great weekend.
Those images are gorgeous, Tracie! You don't see artwork like that anymore on the simple things in life like calendars. The third one down looks like my granddaughter! These will look wonderful framed and hanging on a wall.
Tracie, these are so precious. Each print is so sweet. It's so nice that your father had saved this for so many years. Can't wait to see them framed. Thanks for sharing with Share Your Cup.
Hugs,
Jann
Those are so cool. I wish I had more stuff like that to display in my own home.
