When going back through a bunch of my garden postings…I realized I rarely share with you landscape photo’s of my garden. Mostly just plant or bloom photo’s as I feel as though living in a “fish bowl'” with neighbors homes in the back ground just isn’t share worthy. We have planted arborvitaes around much of the back yard and Bradford Pear Trees along one of the fence lines. However, to save money we bought the smaller sized plantings and each year we hope we will see more and more privacy. So I thought today, I could share a few photo’s of my landscape.
This photo shows the view while I sat and had my coffee this am. This patio area’s feature is the Japanese White Snowbell Tree in the center with boxwoods, roses, hardy fuchsia, tiger lily, calla lily, iris, bleeding hearts, lupin, delphinium, phlox, peony, and Sedum kamtschaticum ‘variegatum’ as a groundcover. Of course these all do not bloom at the same time, but there is always something pretty coming into bloom when something is leaving.
The delphiniums must be very happy this year! This is the first time I’ve ever had them return in the garden. This is also the first time to see them bloom more than once here in my gardens…this will be the third time it has come into bloom! no complaints here!
Another view of this same area.
Here a are the fragrant roses blooming right now!
The Rose Terrace is finally looking better than in past weeks. The top row was filled with Winchester Cathedral Roses and the lower row was filled with Brother Cadfael. Nastarana Climber and Isaac Pereire Climber are growing on the bird house poles..below the terrace is candy tuft ground cover with a new row of heuchra and hostas that I’ve recently planted from starts from my own garden. Throughout the rose terrace is alyssum and johnny jump ups allowed to grow wherever they please.
Inside this archway is a new secret garden that I’ve started over this past year all with starts from my garden. The archaway is blessed with climbers Colette rose and a pinkish/purple clematis. At the base of the arch is lithadora ground color and lady’s mantle.
I will share with you all of what is beyond the arch way next week. So much beauty to come!
Opposite of the archway is this view. On the left is Rose of Sharon with lavender, pin guara, alyssum, Rhododendron Impeditum and spent daylily’s.
