Lingering blooms at Fishtail Cottage…

Our summer was unbelievable here in Seattle.  We were lucky to have a beautiful dry (80+ days) weather ~ which meant a lot of hand watering in the garden…Now that the weather has turned colder and chilly most of my garden is off to La La Land for the winter.  The Daylily's have turned yellow and lay flat on the ground.  My hosta’s have almost melted into piles of slug salad. Leaves on most of the deciduous trees have turned yellow or pink and are falling one by one onto the ground below.

A few remaining blooms still linger here at Fishtail Cottage and I wanted to share those with you today!

My “Blushing Bride” hydrangea has turned color to a pretty pink.

Colette Climbing Rose and a few other roses still are showing their blooms here and there in the garden…however, most blooms aren't’ completely showing their full potential this time of year due to the chill.

Crabapples and Lily of the Valley brighten up the gardens with their fruit.

St. Johns Wart is still very beautiful as is this hardy fuchsia that was tucked under the Strawberry Vanilla Hydrangea. Below these photos is a gorgeous lavender colored hydrangea…

Thanks so much for coming over to see the garden this week at Fishtail Cottage.  So funny to me, that I’ve lost ten followers since I haven’t been sharing my garden…and have been starting to focus my blog posts on my indoor projects. I honestly don’t mind, i just find it interesting.  I look at my blog as more of a journal of what is going on in our life at Fishtail Cottage of the here and now.

That was a lovely look at your garden. We were in your neck of the woods on the weekend and were nearly washed away in the deluge!

Your garden is so lovely - would you believe we had snow last night and it is snowing right now!
Wasn't it just yesterday that we were talking about what was getting ready to bloom in our yards? It sure seems to have gone by quickly! I love all of your posts, indoors or outdoors! Thank you for always sharing something interesting, informative and inspiring! Hugs, Leena

That lavender hydrangea is stunning - it looks almost fake, the colour is so unusual.

As for your followers......we're here summer and winter, indoors and out. I look at my blog the same as you - a journal of what's happening. I'm enjoying your journey.

A beautiful vieuw out of your great garden.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Your garden pics were so pretty. Loved that giant pale pink rose, Collette. I'm going to see if I can find one for sale around here. I liked the plants with little red berries, too. You have some really pretty hydrangeas. I imagine with the various red berries, your garden will be pretty in winter, too.
Your garden is still beautiful. We have a few geraniums and petunias that are hanging in there even with the snow the other day. Thank you for joining in the fun at the Thursday Favorite Things hop. Happy weekend wishes xo
