Week 1 of our Great Room remodel…

So, as many of you know…my Great Room has never been the most favorite ~ it just never felt ‘cozy’ the way I envisioned it being when we were building. I’ve tried so many different ways of styling the room and changing pieces out ~ but it still hasn’t been quite right.

So Sunday of last week I packed everything thing in the room up and moved the furniture out for our “remodel” could start on Tuesday.

We’ve been working with Petrick Construction, Inc. (Seattle Contractor) to help us come up with a design we are happy with.  Together we decided the ‘unused fireplace’ in the room will be removed and replaced with another shelving unit (similar to the other two) in the center to lower the television, bet a few more cabinets and shelving. Also decided, was to remove the useless column next to the walk thru, lower the counter top and finish the wood trim in this area.  We also plan to put rustic beams on the ceiling and hard wood floors in this room as well.

So here are a few photo’s of the first week of the remodel…

Hi Tracie. Don't you just hate it when you have a picture in your mind and then it doesn't come out right. I've done that and it never feels right no matter how nice it looks. Can't wait for the progress. I know it will be spectacular..Happy Sunday..Judy

Love what you've done already, Tracie. The pass through to the kitchen looks so much better and more modern by opening it up. Can't wait to see next week's pictures.

What a wonderful new project, Traci--can't wait to see it when it's all completed! It's fun to revamp a room so that it is more to your liking and how you want to use the space.
