Skates…

I recently found these darling skates that are labeled Montgomery Ward.  I love how they adorn the front porch attached to my vintage sled.

They really are perfect for holiday decor! What a great find! Sweet hugs!
I remember that store. I have been on the hunt for some vintage skates as well. Looks great over the sleigh.

love the perfectly aged skates!

A lot of bloggers are using skates for outdoor decor this year. You've created a nostalgic display with the old sleigh, and the skates; two things that bring back memories.

This is almost exactly what I am doing with my childhood skates and sled! I've been wanting to do something with them each year and never got around to it. This year, I said I was going to do it and then it took me a while to figure out where to put them - inside? outside? I finally decided inside - hope to have pics ready soon! I need some greens. We don't have any evergreen trees on our property so I'll have to go sneak some! LOL! Bet all of your decorations are specatacular! I'm a bit behind on blog reading but I'm catching up! Hugs, Leena

Great minds think alike and the internet spurs on another great idea - I used some thrifted skated to dress up a big wreath on my garden gate. Love that you found some great old vintage ones.

Old skates are the best paired with vintage sleds. Great welcome beside the front door.

Tracie, Montgomery Wards was the first department store to open in my home town. I didn't need ice skates in Florida but I did get a pair of roller skates from there. Love your display! I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday.

It's hard to find ice skate (or sleds, for that matter) here on the Gulf Coast. These are wonderful, and I like how you displayed them!

Yikes! Those look like my old skates, which are out in the garage. I'll have to think of incorporating them in the decorations next year!
great idea. I had some old skates and got rid of them.Never thought of using for decoration. Silly me.
