this week in the garden 6/12/13

Still been sunny here in Seattle and I’m lovin’ it!  We are expecting a little rain this week, but us gardeners know that our gardens love it when the rain arrives…as long as it doesn’t topple everything over on it’s side! Below is a great photo of my ladies mantle in bloom.

The garden here at Fishtail Cottage is sure loving both the rain and sunshine combination we are given…almost everything returned happily from last summer (although I am still waiting to see new growth on those roses I butchered a few weeks ago).  As you can see Delphinium, peonies and roses opened up since last week. Below you can see the patio garden and climbing roses happily doing what they do best…climb!

The side garden pathways are both very cheerful this week!

Our front entrance is still looking beautiful with the peony blooms ~ sharing a few more views of the front yard garden ~ so much is happening right now!

So much so, that I’ve been able to take some cuttings for my home!

So I suppose you’d like to see the peonies that are in bloom?

& roses?

& a few other blooming plants?

It's stunning, Tracie. Love all the peony varieties. I have three in my garden - Sarah Bernhardt, Bowl of Beauty and White Swan(?) a single white. They are easily my favourites in the garden.

Hello Tracie,
love your flowers! Your roses are lovely and Peonies - two of my very favorite - it is marvelous to see your beautiful blooms, especially those of the flowers that wouldn't thrive here.
Hugs,
Kathy

I always drool over your garden....It only sprinkled down here in Oregon yesterday morning, but they keep telling us to expect rain....I ran out and picked a big bouquet of roses just in case!
Wow! Totally gorgeous! Your arbor entry way is fantastic. How do you get your ladies mantle to grow so lush and big? I only have one plant and it hasn't grown much in the last couple of years. Happy Thursday!
Gorgeous Gardens! So inspiring. I need to take lessons from you ;)

My goodness, what a beautiful array. I have many of the same plants but yours are more established. One day we will be able to smell the flowers through the internet, I know it!

Your gardens are so beautiful Tracie! I love peonies and roses and have neither. We've had so much rain here not much is blooming yet. Have a great day!
So pretty! Thanks for sharing your garden!
Your garden is such an inspiration to me.

Beautiful!

All your shots make me want to get out in the garden and that is exactly what I have planned for today.

You have an amazing garden, and one I think every gardener would admire! Your close-ups of the flowers are gorgeous ;) Wendy
oh how beautiful it all is, and that pathway with the draping peonies and the white oval gate! I need that! LOL. Everything looks amazing, all the flowers I love the most but cannot have in south Florida LOL...but I have a plan...we shall see soon what comes up. Lovely post!
Your garden looks fabulous. I love all the beautiful roses on the arbour! (By the way, I left a comment on the link party that my brain slipped and asking you to delete my number 26. Sorry!)

So dang pretty. I love the delphinium. I don't have a single one in my yard.
My lady's mantle is goin' strong as well. I just love that plant.
I've been coveting a boxwood hedge, or a row of them like yours, for years. They look so pretty all lined up.
Everything looks gorgeous, as usual!
