Mantle…

Changing out the mantle for the seasons is one of my favorite projects, it allows me to just shop my own home and move things around according to my mood ~ right now, Its raining and cold outside.  So keeping my home a ‘sanctuary’ for me is important.  I love walking into our great room and feeling invited by the room to cozy up on the couches!

I love collecting old rose paintings – no frame is necessary! They are so lovely to me and I don’t mind a dab of character if they have flaws.  I think that's what attracts me to them – is the combination of both beauty and the beast of “time”.

I collect three footed teacups, so whenever I can put them on display I love to do so!

I love this old match box ~ I found it a couple years ago, and it certainly is something I treasure!  Ironstone is something I love, but only have a few pieces of it ~ I almost put flowers in this darling pitcher, but decided that I like it empty because it’s a symbol that spring is around the corner.

I know I already shared this little table in my New Years Mantle post, but didn’t talk about it. Something I found awhile back through our local Craigslist and has sat in my little sitting room in the master suite.

On top of this little table is the lamp shade I shared with you in an earlier post.  These Waterford crystal coasters I picked up at the thrift store up the street over the holidays…I planned to post them in my Etsy Store, but I haven’t decided if I want to give them up yet.

I love hanging out in this room in the evenings with my husband, however sports is always on the television – so instead I flip through pages of these books!  Doesn’t that little basket with handles look like I should be knitting?  It’s so cute!

Love the mantel and all the sweet detail.

I love to decorate with books. I was surprised that I only have 3 of the same books you showed. I must look for the others.

You created such a pretty springy mantel, Tracie! I adoooorrre that rose painting! It's fabulous! I'm so glad to invite springtime into my house, too. Been lightening things up around here and doing more decluttering. I am sooo anxious to get back in my gardens. But at the rate that the snow is melting and then being replenished by more snow....that may not be until June! lol

Beautiful Tracie, a cozy room filled with the things you love. The cottage teacup is so, so sweet! I too browse through books or magazines while sports are on.

The rose painting is lovely, Tracie. Reminds me of some my mother and aunt painted many years ago. Fun to read the titles of your books. We have many of the same!
