Sitting Room ~ Still dreaming…
I’m still dreaming of a few more ideas to add to this sitting room in our master bedroom before it’s considered ‘complete’. I would love to find an antique French basket chandelier and I would really like to put hard wood flooring in this space ~ but for now, I will share with you an update since I last posted about painting the bookshelf…
We brought the pretty white chairs in this room that used to be in the den. I really liked them in the den but they certainly look pretty in here too!
You can see that I’ve played off of the book paper wall with the muted colors when I decorated. I love this wall so much and so happy that I did it!
I appreciate all the suggestions that have been made for decorating the bookshelf, it’s been fun to shop for items ~ but honestly, the only thing that I have purchased for the shelf are these knobs from World Market. Everything else are pieces that I already had. I’m glad I didn’t rush out to ‘find’ new things to bring home because the shelf holds items that I need, like an extra blanket, storage of large photo’s that I keep in this old metal suitcase. Home and Garden magazines and my collection of old milk glass that I have. Really all simple pieces, but NO clutter!
This is such a pretty room to look at while I snuggle up in my bed. I have also seen the kids come and find a quite place for reading. Appreciate you coming by to see how this little nook is turning out ~ if you know of a pretty chandelier out there, let me know…xoxo, tracie

Have a wonderful day, Elizabeth
I love, love, love the wall. I have to admit that when you first showed us, I wasn't sure. But now that the chairs and bookcase are in, its perfect.

Your sitting area is so pretty! You created the perfect spot to snuggle up and relax.
Your sitting area looks so divinely chic. Love your walls, I did this same treatment in my shop. I white washed over my pages so they would melt away with subtle pages of calm to the boldness.
Love your book case reminds me of the same effect I have with my cabinet in my kitchen.
I can see the wood, I can see where you want this to go and I am sure you will achieve it soon enough.
Bravo, bravo!

Ps, maybe you can pull up the carpets and paint the subfloors as I did to mine :)
