Viola’s on the Mantle

I haven’t changed out my mantle in awhile and was feeling the need for something colorful in the family room. So I decided on these sweet viola’s that adorned purples and yellows. Not sure how to display them, I decided to place them inside this wooden gardening tote.!

IMG_2119IMG_2118When I changed things out on the mantle, I try to just use things from around the house that I already have!  Which has an effect on other rooms where I borrow from as well – but love switching pieces around so they feel new again!  I decided to put this mirror above the mantle that has been living in the guest suite…it’s an old chippy frame that has hosted a gorgeous pearl rosary ~ I think they belong together! I love the way the rosary looks hanging on this scratched up mirror, don’t you?

Inside the mantle sits this night stand.  I shared it with you the last time I changed out my mantle décor ~ I’m still enjoying this piece between the two leather chairs! Despite some comments I received about my little lamp, I am still loving the look of it here too.  I snipped some English Blue Bell flowers to match the color in the violas and switched out the books that were on the bottom shelf.

Whenever I can find these milk glass vases at garage sales, I pick them up.  Since they are spread in different parts of the house, I had no idea that I had so many! They look pretty on each side of this rustic garden tote.

Hope you have a fabulous week! Much love to you ~ xoox, tracie

Just lovely, Tracie! I love Violas - they have the best scent, don't they?

Simple, common things make a great look.

Pretty! Our pansies and violas are long gone because it's already hot here. It's fun seeing them used in such a pretty way. You are making me want to collect milk glass. :)

So pretty. Simple and elegant. And the flowers in that wooden box.... perfect!
Love the look of the violas with the roughness of the garden tote! You've just given me an idea to use with some old window boxes my daughter has at her house! We found them empty in the backyard and she did want to plant some flowers. The mantle looks very fresh again, and I hope your family doesn't mind that they can only read books with lavender covers this spring ;) Wendy x
Your violas look lovey with their cute little faces!
I love violas- these look so sweet on your mantel.
That's a great way to use a tool box!

I love Violas Tracie! Could it be because I had a dear and wonderful Aunt Viola? Might just have something to do with it. They look so pretty in your rustic box. Love the mirror too! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
hugs,
Jann
