Oh my gosh did you plant that thistle?? I go into full annihilation mode when I see one sprouting in my garden. We have mild winters (Napier, New Zealand) that don't kill off or sometimes don't even knock back weeds, so if I let even one of those thistles flower I would be overrun in a heartbeat lol

We too have a monster-sized thistle that we've left growing in the front flowerbed. The flowers are pretty and we'll pull it before it goes to seed - though the goldfinches do love the seed.

your gardens are lovely

Pretty pictures of pretty flowers! I have lilies blooming but not the day lilies. Always a joy to see roses in bloom! The birds appreciate the thistle!

You could have been taking pictures in my garden! We have so many flowers in common (except the thistle). Loving the day lilies right now.

So pretty Tracie. Will have to show my Mr. He pulled out my thistle thinking it was a 'weed'. It was just about to bloom in all it's lavender beauty!
I have always loved thistle and love seeing you showing it on your blog! Did you plant it or is it a volunteer?
