Craft Night at My Sweet Savannah

So for the past couple months, a few of us girls have been flocking to Melaine’s home for a craft night…Many of you know Melaine at My Sweet Savannah, if you haven’t been to her blog yet, you must ~ she is so sweet and has so much to share with the rest of us!  Last week we created a knock off of Anthropologies' zinc letters and affixed them to a distressed wooden board.
Beginning with the board itself with a few knicks and dents already applied to the pieces ~ we used a wood stain by rubbing it on with a paper towel.  while drying, we got to work on the faux paper letters picked up ahead of time from Michaels.

Painting the letters first completely black, followed up with a coat of metallic paint. We honestly couldn’t tell the difference between the real Anthropologie letter and the ones we made…unless of course you picked it up!

It was very messy, but very very very fun!

Once the letters were dry, we used an epoxy glue to adhere them to the distressed boards.  The best part was seeing everyone's creation completed.

So mine was a little different…I decided to paint my letters white which went much better with my own home decor!  Right now, I’ve set it up in the bonus room, but hopefully it will be hung in my someday outdoor “COTTAGE” GARDEN SHED” that I dream of owning…

Craft Night is always so great, because we are shown how to create something beautiful, yet still allowed to make it our own!  I always leave My Sweet Savannah’s home on ‘Craft Night’ feeling like I truly accomplished something beautiful!
Here are a few other items that I’ve created because of Craft Night at My Sweet Savannah’s craft night…

A craft night! What a great idea! Now who can I invite over to my place for something like this?

I like the zinc letters a lot, but your cottage in white speaks to my heart.

What a fun night. In this day and age of little time to complete a project, it's always nice to feel like you've accomplished something. Great job!
