The mantel itself makes a fantastic statement in the room without overwhelming the space I have available. It is only seven inches deep, yet the architecture gives depth and detail that I was looking for.
In a recent post, I shared that I couldn’t wait to decorate our newly remodeled great room ~ so I had to do my thing by adding the mercury glass and a few holiday décor details. Using white and pink Poinsettia’s and some freshly cut evergreens. Makes the space so warm and inviting, don’t you think?
But the piece that really warms the faux fireplace up is the antique galvanized bucket (not sure what its original use is), but I filled it with natural evergreens from the outside and fragrant cinnamon pinecones. A couple candles that look like birch logs paired with some tiny white lights. I saw this idea on Pinterest and think it’s just a perfect way to bring in some festive décor!

Gorgeous! I want a faux mantel in every room that doesn't have a real one!! You fireplace is so clever! Love the wood and greenery!
Llooks lovely, definitely a focal point now in room. It is fun to decorate it for different holidays.
Looks absolutely awesome! :)
Hi Tracie: The mantle was a wonderful find and a must have to complete the room. Looks so pretty as you have it for Christmas. I have one in my parlor, which I didn't get cleaned up to show this holiday but I use my great-grandmother's old parlor stove in front. It is not fire worthy so use candles also. I'm am so wanting to get it done for show one of these days. A mantle, real or otherwise, really just finishes a room..Happy Wednesday..Judy
Looks AWESOME!!
Just wondering why you got rid of your real fireplace?
Those faux mantles are really amazing - and you did a fantastic job making it festive.
Love the olive bucket with the lights..All is awesome..Hugs and smiles Gloria
It makes the room so cosy looking! Merry Christmas Tracie!
This is the perfect solution, Tracie. I'm all over the birch logs this year - love the contrast of the white against the greenery and pine cones. You can almost feel the heat from the fire - it's so lovely.
Merry Christmas, my friend.
This is just gorgeous. Great job and very festive.

Hi Tracie! The mantel is a great idea! You get the architecture without losing a lot of space and, like you said, it gives you a lot of decorating opportunities! Your bucket is an olive bucket. I really like how it looks with the lights and greens! Hugs, Leena
