My Faux Mantle…

I am so in love with my new mantle!  I was so worried that when we decided to remove the fireplace I wouldn’t have a place to hang our stockings…Inspired by so many of you ~ the solution was to find something that would suffice as a mantle to decorate.  The perfect one was found at Cranberry Cottage in Bothell Washington. I look forward to doing so many fabulous things with it over the different seasons and holidays! 

The mantel itself makes a fantastic statement in the room without overwhelming the space I have available.  It is only seven inches deep, yet the architecture gives depth and detail that I was looking for. 

In a recent post, I shared that I couldn’t wait to decorate our newly remodeled great room ~ so I had to do my thing by adding the mercury glass and a few holiday décor details.  Using white and pink Poinsettia’s and some freshly cut evergreens.  Makes the space so warm and inviting, don’t you think?

But the piece that really warms the faux fireplace up is the antique galvanized bucket (not sure what its original use is), but I filled it with natural evergreens from the outside and fragrant cinnamon pinecones.  A couple candles that look like birch logs paired with some tiny white lights.  I saw this idea on Pinterest and think it’s just a perfect way to bring in some festive décor!
