a little spring…

Okay, now that the holidays have come and gone…I’m soooo ready for spring!  Not sure what it is, but the month of January is so difficult for me.  It seems that there really isn’t anything to look forward to except that 15 pounds I tell myself I want to lose! lol  So instead I find myself, decorating inside (just a little) while waiting for spring!  The fireplace mantle will be keeping me busy weekly with new ways to bring the outside inside.

When I was at Fred Meyer the other day, I saw that they have forced iris for sale and it took me less than 30 seconds to choose two to bring home for my mantle!

I’m loving the hint of spring it offers to my Great Room.

IMG_0940I also just found this darling canvas art piece that I found recently on craigslist!  it adds to the room deliciously!

Still loving the frames I purchased from My Sweet Savannah Etsy Shop for this space in my home!

…and remember this little lamp shade redo post I did over a year ago…well the lamp itself has found a spot on the side table that I brought in from the patio.

…which makes this little seating area a great place to snuggle up and read now!

I agree with you about January. It is cold, still gets dark early and just makes me yearn for spring. I smiled as I walked in the front door after work today because there were a few little red and purple flowers blooming in my planter.

Enjoy your mantel.
Love the color of your little table
looks so beachy and adorable
Happy New year

I am usually the same at this time of the year. Due to not having much snow and bad weather and the fact we have so many projects to do in the house, I am happy to wait. I am going to be getting some house plants and flowers to bring Spring in the house early.

I can't resist those forced bulbs at this time of year - they keep me going in the dark of winter. Fortunately we're having some mild weather right now, so it's not too bad. Keep these temperatures up and it will be spring before we know it.

I never tried to force bulbs, I think next year I may try it out. I love your room it is quite quaint.

Oh Tracie, loving those blooms! I would have nabbed them in a hurry too! Snowing like crazy here today. Thinking I will make a few Valentine tags to attach to some of my Vintage items. Hubby and I have been so busy cleaning out our basement to have it finished. A big job ahead. Getting help. Too much to do on our own. Think Spring sweetie!

Jann

Looove those frames! I'm dying for spring already! I don't last long in the winter! Forced bulbs are a great start. By February I'll start thinking of garden ideas and changes I want to make. Thanks for inspiring me! I'll be out this weekend looking for forced bulbs. At least some cut tulips!
