Ladies Luncheon in honor of Ashley Trenner…
Last week I shared with you that I was hosting a luncheon in my back yard garden for 50 ladies in honor of my friend Ashley. Not only to gather a group of ladies in one place to discuss our risk of melanoma and skin cancer but to raise money for AIM. AIM is a non-profit organization, committed to Melanoma research, education, awareness and legislation.
Its been a busy week getting the trampoline torn down, tents and rental table chairs and linens picked up and brought here. Auction items documented and wrapped. The event turned out beautifully because of the people that helped make the day run smoothly honoring Ashley.
We had a guest speaker, Dr. Strother, who is a Board Certified Dermatologist in Kirkland Washington that has been practicing in the Seattle area since 2001. He is very familiar with Ashley’s plight because he was also her dermatologist. Dr. Strother shared a lot of fabulous information to all of us who attended. We also had a surprise guest speaker that I met just the day before and shared her melanoma journey with us. Jo Malone set up a table to give hand and arm massages for the guests. Tressa’s Bakery out of Duvall Washington catered the event. It truly turned out more lovely than expected…The silent auction, live auction and raffle raised a little under $8,500.00 We were told yesterday that each and every penny that is donated in Ashley’s honor will be donated to the International Tissue Bank.
