My Daughters Room…
My daughters room has been the same since she was four…but now that she is twelve (almost 13) she is ready for some major changes!!! To be honest, so am I! I love taking on these types of projects…it’s sort of a challenge for me to bring another room to flow with the rest of the house, yet personalize it for the one who resides in it. After my son’s recent room makeover ~ she said to me, “Mom – do whatever you want and surprise me!” The fact that she loves vintage pieces mixed in with newer pieces makes this project even more fun for me! Here is her room now…please ignore the mess – but this is reality!
I love using Pinterest, as I can create an inspiration board and refer to it whenever I need to!
The color scheme that I decided on – yes, I did run it by her is this…so most everything I plan to choose, will be compared to these two photo’s.
Decided to leave the bead board in her room white and paint the wall Sherwin Williams Veiled Violet #6268 .
We’ve decided to keep her bed and storage towers (for now), but selling a lot of pieces from her room on craigslist.
This is the bedding I’ve picked up from Target. I think it will be pretty with the wall color!
I’m in love with this chandelier from Restoration Hardware Baby ~ but the price is way too expensive..so I will find something similar (eventually)!
I love the idea of using these cozy euro sized faux fur pillows and bean bag (now out of stock at Pottery Barn)! grrr! Makes me mad now that I waited so long to decide to order these! But maybe it was meant to be that I’ll find something less expensive! If you have any suggestions as to where I can find something similar, please let me know!
A few finds that I’ve ordered from creative friends, is the handcrafted crown and dream catcher! So beautiful…I really believe they will complete the room with romantic unique touches! Click on the photo’s to be taken to their site.
I think I can make something similar to this book ~ we’ll see if I can get “my crafty on”! I think it’s absolutely beautiful!
I will update you with inspirational finds as I bring them home! To see where else I am linking to this week – please check my “Cottage Links” label…xoxo, tracie

I searched high and low for bedding when I re~did our master just recently. You will be surprised that The Land Of Nod has reasonable prices, I looked because they had queen size comforters and duvets and lots in gray which I was looking for. West Elm also has some good prices on bedding and pillows. ew thoughts. Have fun!

Jane

Thank you so much for the sweet shout-out, too. You should be receiving your dream catcher in a couple days! Hope you and Jaclyn love it! ♥

I love the choice of SW violet. It is so versatile because of the gray tones.
You might find something with crystals at a second-hand store or vintage shop for not much.
Ikea sells faux sheep skin rugs, and the faux ones are ten dollars. Maybe you could make a cover or use them on the floor or the bed. I was also recently surprised by how much bean bag chairs have gone up in price!
